Grain Wood (Pvt) Ltd., a leading furniture manufacturing organisation in the hill capital of Sri Lanka, was established in 1988 as a subsidiary of H.G.Somananda & Company, which was the local main contractor for Balfour Beatty, Nuttol, Costain International, Wesco Bowing, and Balfour Beatty Construct International.
The principal activities of the Company are divided in two segments. Residential Property Projects Segment is involved in manufacturing, supplying and installing paneling products such as kitchen and vanity cabinets, wardrobes, doors and doorframes and furniture components. The Interior Fitting-out Projects Segment provides interior fitting-out services on a turnkey basis and structural works for hospitality, commercial and retail properties such as hotels, resorts, office, shops and bank branches. The years of hands-on experience has allowed Grain Wood (Pvt) Ltd. to deep-root its presence not only in the domain of furniture manufacturing but also in interior décor.
From its inception, the Company’s focus was to offer a dedicated personalised service that ensures complete customer satisfaction, which is the secret behind its success. The Company has among its valued customers, a number of leading hotels, state institutions, private companies and an exclusive private clientele. Although the Company is older by two decades, high quality is consistently maintained by strict quality control and personalised supervision. Over the recent years, it has begun to broach diversification and professionalised development with production materials expanding to cover aluminum alloy and stainless steel, and has an extensive product line.
